    Emma Larsson is our Paris Menswear A/W 17 Illustrator

    We are in the midst of the Paris Menswear A/W 17 shows. Our illustrator for this season is Emma Larsson! 

    Emma Larsson is based in based in Stockholm. Larsson's work investigates the boundary between melanchony and coloursitic dreamscapes.

    'Drawing From The Archive' is open!

    Last night, our new space at 22D Ebury Street opened its doors to friends and family to introduce our latest exhibition, Drawing From The Archive.

    Continuing Nick Knight's championing of fashion illustration, this exhibition surveys SHOWstudio’s 17-year archive, showcasing artworks that challenge conventional understandings of the medium. Animations, film and footage from live broadcasts are displayed alongside original pieces by a selection of SHOWstudio’s community of over fifty artists, including the likes of Jenifer CorkerUnskilled Worker and Carylann Loeppky.

    Come by and explore the exhibition and our new space! Open from 10:00am-6:00pm, Monday to Friday. All illustrations are available to browse and buy

    Watch Gary Aspden's 'North' Interview play at Claire de Rouen

    To coincide with the launch of North: Identity, Photography, Fashion at the Open Eye Gallery, Liverpool, SHOWstudio launched an interview with brand consultant and self-proclaimed trainer obsessive Gary Aspden.

    The interview sees Aspden discuss his early teenage years and sportswear as a symbol of aspiration. 'I loved Armani at that time because the logo had the same initials as mine,' says Aspden.

    Don't miss this week's launches!

    Menswear A/W 17 is waving London goodbye, but there is still many exciting things yet to happen here at SHOWstudio!

    Our LFWM live panel discussions on Wales BonnerJ.W. Anderson and Vivienne Westwood, each discussed a range of influential topics including gender fluidity, punk and runway diversity. All panel discussions can all be viewed as part of our collections coverage. Plus! Congratulations to Finn Mactaggart and Anastasiia Fedorova on their first panels of the season as our guest chairs.

    Over on our Tumblr, we have illustrator Lara Mackenzie Lee interpreting the London Menswear Shows, such as Phoebe English and Craig Green.

    This Tuesday, as part of our Subjective series, Guinevere Van Seenus is discussing her role in Rei Nadal's 2016 fashion film The Fall of the Corset.

    Later this week, we'll be hosting a Gosha Rubchinskiy Live Panel Discussion, chaired by Anastasiia Fedorova. Tune in Thursday 12 January 11:00 GMT to watch.

    Our A/W 17 London Menswear Illustrator is Lara Mackenzie Lee!

    Our first A/W 17 fashion week illustrator is Lara Mackenzie Lee!  As this season kicks off, make sure you don't miss any of her London Menswear illustrations.

    Lara Mackenzie Lee is based in London. Having studied Fashion Communication with Promotion at Central Saint Martins, Lee's art work focuses on abstraction and surrealism. Lee has previously worked for Stella McCartney, Erdem and Selfridges and has interned at SHOWstudio.

    North launches at the Open Eye Gallery, Liverpool tonight!

    North: Identity, Photography, Fashion, co-curated by SHOWstudio Editor-at-Large Lou Stoppard and academic Adam Murray, opens tonight at the Open Eye Gallery, Liverpool.  To celebrate the launch, we are proud to present two brand new interviews as part of our rolling series North.

    Liverpudlian stylist Thom Murphy and Blackburn-born brand consultant Gary Aspden each discuss their personal perspectives on the influence street culture, music and sport have had on representations of Northern identity in fashion and fashion imagery. Set to visuals created by SHOWstudio interns Tom Zambaz and Chiara Broggi using a mix of sourced archive footage and modern technologies, the films provide a visual journey, exploring both place and time.

    Our eleventh Design Download is now available!

    Simone Rocha's skirt pattern for S/S 14 is now available to download as a Christmas gift!

    For our eleventh Design Download, SHOWstudio teams with Simone Rocha, winner of the British Womenswear Designer award at the 2016 British Fashion Awards. The Irish-born, London-based designer has donated the pattern to a three-bite, pearl embellished skirt from her S/S 14 collection. The piece encapsulates her signature twisted take on femininity. Download the pattern and enter our competition.

    Once you've constructed your take on the skirt, simply submit images of your creation to SHOWstudio via Twitter (@SHOWstudio #DesignDownload) and/or email ( for the chance to see your work displayed online in our submissions gallery. Nick Knight and Rocha will review the entries and select their favourite. The winner will be awarded a print of a specially-commissioned illustration by one of our most celebrated contributing artists, British illustrator Fiona Gourlay. The work will feature the skirt as it was originally styled in Rocha’s S/S 14 show.

    Nick Knight's 2016 fashion film for for Tom Ford’s iconic Black Orchid fragrance sees model of the moment Mica Arganaraz enveloped in a billowing burst of smoke.

    Featuring styling by Carine Roitfeld and hair by Sam McKnight, the film explores the dark sensuality inherent in the scent. Thanks to Trey Laird of Laird + Partners for production, Director of Photography Benoit Delhomme and Loic Maes for post-production work!

    Watch the new series of films in #UNMUTED!

    Amid the socio-political turmoil of 2016, #UNMUTED's four films aim to promote community and equality. Featuring Ebonee Davis, Iskra Lawrence, Leopoldine Huyghues DespointesJillian Mercado and Sandflower, the films see each individual in unspoken conversations with New Yorkers on the subway. 

    Alexandra Gavillet talked about the motivation behind the arresting #UNMUTED fashion films, in the latest interview with SHOWstudio Editorial Assistant Lara Johnson-Wheeler

    'New Yorker's emotions were at an all time high that week, so bringing these strong subjects onto the subway and voicing their vulnerabilities that others can relate to, was needed,' said Gavrillet. 

    The series is shot by Wendy Bowman and produced by Natasha Garoosi.

    SHOWstudio is a committed supporter of fashion film and aspiring creatives. To show this support, Nick Knight asks filmmakers from across the globe to submit their work to SHOWstudio - a selection of submissions that Knight finds impressive or inspiring feature on SHOWstudio.

    Lyndsay Martin's work is the most recent to feature on SHOWstudio. The London-based artist's film, entitled Conversation 669, features textured clips of natural and man-made materials. In an exploration of the tactility and sensory nature of memories, the film employs a split screen to highlight the duality between reality and remembering and is set to a soundtrack by band Red Kite.

    New Design Download Launching on Christmas Day!

    Our eleventh Design Download is launching 25 December 2016! As a Christmas gift to you, our SHOWstudio audience, we are offering the pattern for a garment from one of London's most celebrated designers to download and make.

    Launched in 2002, SHOWstudio's Design Download initiative has a simple and direct aim: to help demystify the fashion process by offering prestigious designer garment patterns for download via the Internet. Past contributors to the series include John Galliano, Junya Watanabe, J.W. Anderson, Yohji Yamamoto and Alexander McQueen

    Keep an eye out for the skirt pattern launching on Christmas Day! Can you guess the designer?
