Pedro González-Rubio at the Marrakech International Film Festival

The Marrakech International Film Festival, which has been welcoming us in Morocco for the last week, is putting special emphasis on Mexican cinema this year. Amongst a group of young Mexican film makers and actors representing a new generation of cinema creatives from Southern America is Pedro González-Rubio who stirred up the film world with his debut feature, Alamar, in 2009. The movie was shot with a two-man crew and a HD camera and Pedro holds the credits as director, writer, producer, cinematographer, editor, and even production designer for the film on IMDb.

Watch Pedro speaking to us about the rise of Mexican cinema in our series In Your Face: Interviews, which has launched this week with the first film featuring Dinos Chapman.
